Emergency Tips

In case of an emergency, homeowners should know the location of:

  • The main water shut-off valve
  • The gas shut off valve
  • The shut-off switches for the heating and air conditioning systems
  • The electrical shut-off switches.

Also, make sure extra house keys are available in case of an emergency. It is also advised to have on hand a list of emergency facilities and phone numbers. You can never be too careful.

 

Spring Checklist

  • Change Furnace Filter (Monthly)
  • Check Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
  • Clean Aerators on Faucets and Shower Heads
  • Inspect Air-Conditioning Unit for Proper Operation
  • Inspect Backsplash Caulking and Re-Caulk as Needed
  • Inspect Shower and Tub Caulking and Re-Caulk as Needed
  • Test GFCI receptacles
  • Inspect Exterior Paint, Stain or Siding, Putty & Caulking
  • Clean Fins on Outside AC Condensing Unit
  • Check Drainage Swales for Proper Rain Water Flow
  • Check for Evidence of Termites
  • Inspect the Roof and Roof Vents
  • Re-Seal Wood Fences

Summer Checklist

  • Change Air Conditioner Intake Filter (Monthly)
  • Check Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
  • Have Carpet Cleaned
  • Use Wood Conditioner on All Wood Cabinets
  • Inspect Backsplash Caulking and Re-Caulk as Needed
  • Lubricate Door Hinges with Silicone Spray
  • Monitor Secondary A/C Drain
  • Test GFCI receptacles
  • Lubricate Rollers & Guides on Garage Door & Opener
  • Water Foundation to Maintain Constant Moisture in Dry Seasons
  • Seed and Feed Lawn
  • Deep Water Shrubs and Trees
  • Check Drainage Swales for Proper Rain Water Flow
