Build Wichita Uses Quality Products in All Our Homes

ClimateMaster® Geothermal Heat Pump Systems

Build Wichita is now using Geothermal Heat Pump Systems (Ground Source Heat Pumps) in Phase II of Belle Chase. The energy savings combined with the 30 percent tax credit make this system one of the great features of choosing a Build Wichita home.

How does a Ground Source Heat Pump system work?

A geothermal or "ground-source" heat pump is an electrically powered device that uses the natural heat storage ability of the earth and/or the earth's groundwater to heat and cool your home or business.

The temperature beneath your home remains constant regardless of the season. ClimateMaster® Geothermal Heat Pump Systems harness the stable underground temperature to provide heating, cooling, and hot water at remarkably high efficiencies. So high, in fact, that energy use can be cut by up to 80%.

Like any type of heat pump, it simply moves heat energy from one place to another. The geothermal heat pump removes heat energy stored in the earth and/or the earth's groundwater and transfers it to the home.

One of the things that make a heat pump so versatile is its ability to be a heating and cooling system in one. You can change from one mode to another with a simple flip of a switch on your indoor thermostat. Plus, a geothermal heat pump can assist in heating water year-round.

Now, you can save even more with tax credits. Save up to 30% off the total cost of installation with a recently implemented federal tax credit. You get to save money every month on your energy bill and significant savings off the cost of installation of a new system.

A zinc borate compound is applied throughout the substrate to help protect against fungal decay and termites. Superior exterior-grade resins are used to create extremely strong bonds within the product. Tested in laboratory and real-world conditions for more than a decade, LP SmartSide products are proven to withstand extreme heat, cold, humidity and rainfall.

LP SmartSide products also deliver the beautiful, authentic look of real wood for unbeatable curb appeal. And the SmartGuard® manufacturing process helps protect against termite damage and fungal decay. The entire LP SmartSide Trim & Siding manufacturing process is earth-friendly as well. In accordance with Sustainable Forestry Initiative® standards, we use wood from small, fast-growing trees for less waste and better resource usage. Our process uses the entire log, with no urea-formaldehyde and low-emitting safe resins as a binder. Finally, the zinc-borate in our SmartGuard® manufacturing process is a naturally-occurring material.
